XLive in The Star newspaper.

The Story Begins...

Rocking alfresco

This is global warming with a decidedly local flavour.

Yes, come May 17, the temperature of the cool Genting Highlands air will rise a number of significant notches when X-Pax unleashes its inaugural XLive outdoor live music festival, which will be held at the Genting Outdoor Theme Park.

The likes of Missy Elliot, DJ Yoji, Dan The Automator, Filo & Peri, Marcus Schossow, Stylustiks and Goodnight Electric are all expected to shake the foundations with their rip-roaring sets.

Missy Elliot.

XLive will be the first outdoor music festival to be held in Genting Highlands since 2004 and will also be the first time that a music festival is being held at the Genting Outdoor Theme Park.

Organised by Pervert Music, the festival will run from 7pm right up to 4am and will be divided into three open-air arenas, namely the XLIVE MAIN STAGE, XL-TRONIC and XLCTRC.

Each arena will feature a multitude of quality international, regional (featuring Yoji Biomehanika, Filo & Peri, Marcus Schossow, Derek K, Gregoire Pagnoux and Raysoo) and local (featuring Dan the Automator, Alhaca Soundsystem, Goodnight Electric, Lap Sap, B4C and Twilight Actiongirl) acts, offering a dazzling array of music genres ranging from hip hop/R&B to dance and rock that’s designed to cater to a wide-ranging audience.

As the name implies, XLive features predominantly live talents, designed to capitalise on the emerging trend and growing audience for live music festivals. XLive isn't a mere dance festival; it is truly a diverse music festival with a plethora of activities to keep festival goers entertained.

In addition to the live performances and DJs at the three main arenas, festival-goers are also entitled to rides such as the Spinner, Cyclone, Astro Fighter and other theme rides to their hearts’ content.

Peterpan Live in Malaysia @ Stadium Negara

The Story Begins...

Wohoo!

Firstly, thanks to Khaleeq for the ticket.

Peterpan Live in Malaysia was sponsored by Celcom.
They are the current spokesperson for XPax.

The concert opened its curtain with 2 local indie bands; Nitrus & Hujan.
Great live performance by Hujan. I really enjoy the great vibe they brought to the crowd.

10pm, Peterpan came on stage. They played their famous hits such as Ku Katakan Dengan Indah, Mungkin Nanti, Di Balik Awan, Kupu-kupu Malam and lots more.
I would say the concert was ok at the first half of the show. But throughout the end, it was better! They hit us with all their famous tunes from Ada Apa Denganmu, Mimpi Yang Sempurna, Topeng, Tak Bisakah, Hari Yang Cerah...

My favorite songs of the night would be Melawan Dunia, Di Balik Awan, Mimpi Yang Sempurna, Sally Sendiri, and Ku Katakan Dengan Indah.

The funny thing about the concert.
I can't stop thinking about the Indonesian crowd.
They look like those hardcore metal fans; long hair, blood & skeleton images on their t-shirt.

Here are some photos of last night's concert:

A view from the top level of the stadium... We thought of crashing the front row. hihihi

Wohooo... Now we're in the game!

huih... ramainya

Nitrus!

Hujan!

Peterpan!

Shit! Leher berlapis!

The concert was fine. Hope to see them again with more good music. :)

Pesta berahi

Semakin lama muzik dialunkan, semakin ramai peserta menyertai parti, terutama membabitkan pelancong asing, termasuk warga Eropah, Amerika Syarikat, Australia, Vietnam dan Jepun.

Bilangan warga tempatan, terutama Melayu, juga semakin meningkat, khususnya pasangan remaja dianggarkan berusia awal hingga pertengahan 20-an.

Baik lelaki mahupun wanita Melayu, semuanya sama.

Goodbye, Puncak Perdana

The Story Begins…

After three years of fun & tears, we have reach our destination; the end of diploma.

I’ve been struggling since we all were still “freshies”. I don’t know how to say this…

Ok. I’ve put all my efforts in every assignment but I never got credit for it, in other words, I never succeed during my diploma years. People think that I’m a smart student just because they see my hard effort. Looks can be deceiving. Yes, I do look like a nerd. Everybody has their own flaws, right?

I really thank god after all my effort, my blood and sweats, I can see my future now. This final semester has brought me lots of luck. I’m very lucky to be in the GLAM team for my final project. Seriously.

It’s the best team work I’ve ever done in any assignment before. We all work our ass off for 3-4 days in making our final presentation a big success. Ilya, Aizat, Israq & Mahirah. You guys deserve a big bear hug from me. I really enjoy working with you guys. Same goes to the staff of GLAM. Kak Wirda Adnan, Kak Aida Osman, Jac, Jaja, Min, Reezal, Suzie, Putri, Meera, Zul, Ibnu, Razlan, Bustamam and everyone there. Big thanks from me. I really love you guys.

During our final semester, we had to do our post-graduate dinner. FYI, it was a real big success. Not to brag but face it. This came out from the lecturer’s mouth, “The best MPG ever in the history!”

Good things have to be share la kan? Yeah, everybody loves our MPG. I performed for my class and also for my band. Pretty nervous at first but after one performance, the feeling is good and I wanna do it more! Hehehe. Our post event was great too. I’ll post the picture soon.

Which semester is the best for me?

I would say first semester and fourth sem. First semester were great because the lecturers were really nice to me. The feeling was like in the tuition centre. Puan Massila was my favorite in the first sem.

Second sem was ok but a bit tough for me. A lot of things happen which I hate to mention it here. Maybe you can ask me in person about it. Hehehe. Favorite lecturer = Puan Yuslinda.

As for the third semester, the classes got tougher. A few dramas had to start. I hate it. Somehow, it’s more or less related to the second sem. My daily dance practice was the only way for me to forget my problems. Thanks to Kak Am. Eventhough my steps were pretty bad at first, yeah, like you said, commitment and discipline is very important. Favorite lecturer = Cik Mayu and Encik Lan. I could cry thinking back about my photo communication subject. I couldn’t afford the DSLR camera. And for the assignment, some people think that I’m stupid in working with camera.

Ok. Now the fourth sem. It’s the best ever semester for me because I had a real good fun and excitement. Weekly clubbing nights. The Curve, Heritage Row, P Ramlee… I love it! The rave party Speedzone was the craziest party night. I still remember those hangover days. Who can’t forget it?

Advertising subject was awesome! I love our pitch eventhough it was not as perfect as some people but it was a true fun presenting it in front of my classmates. Shit yeah. We played jokes and laughed with the people and made our presentation so much happening even when they don’t understand our theme and concept. Hehehe. The fifth semester was a bit sucky. Hectic semester. It was fine with all the assignment. I just hate it for its busy-ness. No party required.

Final sem. I would call it the experimental team mates. But it was a big successful assignment I’ve ever done.

How we enjoy our diploma years. Yeah, I love the fun. We love attending concerts, clubs, rave parties, and any event. Pussycat Dolls concert, Tiesto party, Muse, Gwen Stefani, Sheila on 7, Recharge 4 & 5, Velocity party, Backstreet Boys, Speedzone, Puteri Gunung Ledang Musical, football matches and whole lot more. Movie nights. Most memorable would be Simpsons, 9 September, Exorcism of Emily Rose and Street Kings. Any other night, we just watch our downloaded TV series and movies. Owh I really love those days.

I enjoy visiting one house to another in our hostel. Gossiping with others, making fun of people. We’re really good at that! Singing and screaming outside the window. Stay overnight outside. We climb our college fence. Owh! Owh! We had this one big party. The whole boys in our batch attended it and almost everyone wore red!

Thanks guys for the fun during the whole 3 years of our diploma days. I really love everyone for making me laugh and understanding me. I’m sorry if I have done any mistakes. I apologize for my wrongdoings.

Here are some photos of our last day in Universiti Teknologi MARA, Puncak Perdana campus

Siti talks on her nomination for Best Song category in the AIM

The Story Begins...

Siti Nurhaliza is being nominated for the Best Song category in the AIM for her song, "Menanti Pasti" and "Sekian Lama". In yesterday's press conference with her, she said that she was so glad for being nominated for the category. "It's a good achievement for the song being nominated beside my own album,” said her. She also believed that other nominees were good too. It’s a bonus for her and also the Kayangan team if “Menanti Pasti” wins the AIM for the category.

The song from the Kayangan soundtrack, “Menanti Pasti”, is so special to her because of its element. She loves the melody of the song and she even hardly contributing her voice to this type of song. Even the mood of the song suits her personality. Siti admitted that the she has to soften her singing techniques to follow the melody and that makes it very special.

The song is not available in the album, Hadiah Dari Hati, because she had to follow her production. Siti Nurhaliza will start to record her new album in June/July and it’ll be release at the end of the year.

The Press Conference was held in PNB Darby Park. Kudos to Raden Pictures in making "Menanti Pasti" a success. We'll always support Siti Nurhaliza. :)

A chance of me getting a photo with Siti Nurhaliza.

Giving viewty a "test drive"

The Story Begins...

It's been almost a week since I use the latest Viewty phone.
I think it's really rockin'!

Let's talk about the flaw first.
It's pretty complicated to take photos at night
You have to change to the right setting to take photos at a very dark environment.
The ISO, Night mode, Super fine images and so on.
So it's a bit hard to have a manual setting camera phone.

But it's works like a charm during the day!
It's equipped with the Xenon flash (exactly like stand-alone camera flash). It has image stabilizer function and up to ISO 800. There's a red eye reduction function too.

Let's check out some images that I have taken.

A Lamborghini in Tapah, Perak.

A good night shot.

The landscape mode. It's the paddy field behind my aunt's house.

Pretty bad of a night shot. I didn't change the settings for the dark environment. :(

--------------

What else?

I've registered myself the latest broadband package. Streamyx + Celcom Broadband = RM108.
It's very reasonable because my Streamyx monthly bill is RM88. Add another RM20 a month and I can surf internet everywhere through my mobile!

It's worth it! The current combo package for Streamyx is RM110 a month for 1.0mbps.

Plus, I have my personal reasons too. hehehe. I need to check my e-mail from time to time nowadays.

You guys should register the package. The promotion ends by end of May!

--------------

SMS with viewty is really easy!
The QWERTY keyboard can save your time typing message.

Anyway, I'm thinking of selling off my old handphone. In need of cash to buy tickets for the XLive event. :P

WTF? I've been tagged?

The Story Begins...

WHO CREATE THIS TAGGING STUFF?
God? Bill Gates? Steve Jobs?

BUSTED! I'm TAGGED!

*teringat main polisentri (police & thief yang dimelayukan)*

So here it goes:

1. My english suck most of the time. Really sucky, BIG TIME. It's a fact.
2. I'm a loser. People says that I'm the most naive person ever.
3. I love blogging a lot because I don't have any friends. So I express my thoughts through here.
4. I've never been to the cinema before but I really want to experience it. At least once in my life.
5. I love my house
6. I'm the only child. Isn't it suck?

Ermmm... I don't have any friends to tag.

I hate my life.
That makes me a total loser.
20 going on 21 but no still has no life.

Menanti Pasti (from the Kayangan Soundtrack) nominated for the Best Song Category

The Story Begins...

Oh yeah!
I'm a fan of Siti Nurhaliza.
My first ever CD in my life was Siti's Adiwarna back in 1998.
I bought it after I got my first computer.
I was in Standard 5.
How can I forget that?

Adiwarna, Seri Balas, EMAS and Transkripsi won the best album in the AIM.

I now that most of y'all have heard of the song called Menanti Pasti taken off from the Kayangan soundtrack.
I've listen to the album and it's really good. It has different genres in one album.

Guess what?
The song Menanti Pasti is nominated for the Best Song category for both Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) and Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM).
Isn't it great?

I think y'all have read my post on the Kayangan film before and I did recommend you guys to check out the song.
Yes, of course it's different compared to her other songs.
It's good to have such a talented singer like Siti Nurhaliza who can manage to sing multi-genres of music. We've listen to her singing R&B, Dance, Hip-hop (oh yes, the famous Too Phat's Dua Dunia & Million Miles), Ballad and lots more.

Now, Menanti Pasti has a bit of Waltz element. I think it suits the movie Kayangan.
Well, the movie is about the royalty family and the educated kampung girl who is in love with that guy.

Here's a bit info of the song:

"Menanti Pasti’s lyrics were penned by renowned journalist, Abie Abdullah, mixing his love for literature with tremendous vocabulary skills. Ajai then lent his magical talent and expertise to infuse the lyrics with a melody unlike any other. Who would have thought that a Malay song could be composed based on the waltz genre"

You guys should get the album soundtrack in stores! =D
Check out other songs in the album too.
I love the soundtrack as much as the movie.
Sad Angry Babies, Ajai, Farah AF2, Siti Sarah, Zahid AF2, Ning Baizura and lots more has contributing their voice for the soundtrack too.
That made the soundtrack even better.

Anyway,
the song Menanti Pasti is really beautiful and I really hope that it could win the AIM and also APM.
All the best to her.

Check out the video of the song.
SITI BOLEH!

My new gadget...

The Story Begins...

After last year's Recharge event, I don't know why but I think my Sony camera went crazy.
I can take pictures but the system couldn't transfer the photos to my computer. Not only that, it couldn't read my memory stick :(

I really miss my camera. It has been with me on every rave event, concert, party, family matter and record the best memories in my life for the past 3 years.

Early 2008, my grandmother's maid stole my Creative Zen MP3 player! What a B*TCH!

Since I'm having trouble holding an MP3 player, a camera and a handphone, I thought of getting something all in one. Everything in a pocket.

Behold! You're about to view the next technology!

It's my latest phone!
Thanks to my mum & dad for understanding my needs.

They don't want to get me 3 different gadgets, so they got me everything in one.
It's the LG Viewty KU990.
5 megapixels
touch screen phone
3G HSDPA
and it can play M4a and DiVX.

Now I don't have to borrow Izni's camera or my mum's camera phone anymore...

Sean Kingston took us there!

The Story Begins...

He can bring you to the tropics, sip pina coladas, shorty he could take you there!

Sean Kingston burnt down the house!
He was super hot rhyming those sing-along tunes such as Beautiful Girls, Take You There and Me Love.

Gosh! It was a great experience.
He was totally off the hook.
The crowd was super-hyper-active.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he just sang along with the music without the minus one.
But he proved his vocal after each song finished. He made the acapella version of each and every songs that he just sang, and made everyone sing along with him.

I can say it was a total fun while enjoying great tunes of hip-hop.
Eventhough it was a real short gig but it's worth my free ticket.
hehehehe.

He came up on stage at 9.45pm with an intro song and he sang Me Love.
Alongside with him was an emcee named Raheem or Rakeem. I can't remember his name. Sorry.
Followed by another song called I Can Feel It. Great song too. Later on, he sang There's Nothing.

Next, he dropped "Take You There" like it's hot.
What an awesome track?! I sang throughout the song. I believe everyone did the same too. hehehe. Then, he did Beautiful Girls and made everyone gone crazy.

He's 18 years old, 3 hit singles in less than one year and the biggest hip-hop act at the moment in the US of A!
What more can I say?
He was totally off the hook.

*Adli, drop it.. You ain't no black!"
hehehhe

The crowd was great!
I thought that he can't sing but he proved me wrong.
Yes, he's the bomb.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone did enjoy his show.
Eventhough it was short but it was satisfying.

More World Class Events!

The Story Begins...

Hello everyone!

This is the year that we're going to see more "World-Class" event coming in.
Sh*t!
This is crazy! Much more crazier than F1 at night in Singapore!

Firstly, we've already witness the awesome stage, lightings, sounds and line-ups of Sunburst KL International Music Festival. Joe Flizzow, Hujan, Tubby, Atilia, Incubus, The Roots... YOU NAME IT! All genres in one event. It was a real success! Congratulations to Pineapple Events.

Next in the list would be Tiesto's 2 Days of Freedom event in May. First time ever in Malaysia, 2 nights of Tiesto alongside with Ferry Corsten & Cosmic Gate. 3 big DJ names in the world DJ top 100 poll are coming to Malaysia in one event! An event by Scenique Production who did the controversial Gwen Stefani's concert last August (hey, Gwen Stefani's concert was the bomb!). From what I've seen before, the name "FREEDOM" is by Winston as they can't use their original brand name to sponsor event. Correct me if I'm wrong. I saw it during last year's Global Gathering. Like "RECHARGE" by Salem, "SpeedZone" by Marlboro and "7ASTE" by Mild Seven.

Oh.
I was also informed that Live & Loud 2008 is still under planning. Please bring in rock band for this year's L&L. I demand CHEAP tickets too! The season pass was not worth paying. In my own opinion la kan?? hehehe. :P

Lastly,
the world's music festival is back in Malaysia!
Don't be fear of the mudd because GLOBAL GATHERING is back!

Does this made Malaysia as the official country for Global Gathering in Asia?
Wow! We're in the list for the biggest international event!
2 years of Recharge's bad reputation; early curfew in 2006 and muddy venue for Global Gathering last year. I'm hoping for something new this time. Ermm, floorboard for the whole venue, who knows? hahahah. In my opinion, Global Gathering should be held somewhere in the Klang Valley. Easier for people to travel, am I right?

Last year's Global Gathering was a big success for having 35,000 attendees.
Well, me and another 34,999 people are craving for more raves!
yeah!!

One of the people who organize Recharge event mentioned in a forum that the event is confirm but not for the location as they had problems & difficulties from last year's venue. I hope they'll do something with the venue.

So, save your cash. Book your airline ticket.
Cuz Global Gathering is back in November 8th.

SpeedZone Tour 2008 was awesome

The Story Begins...

SpeedZone Tour last 2 weeks was friggin' awesome!
Thanks to Thaiboxingirl for giving me the opportunity to meet with the DJs backstage.

She said, "Hey Adli, you know you got the backstage pass ar?"

I was like, "OMG, REALLY?"

She replied, "If you don't want then I give it to someone else lor..."

Hey! Never say NO to meet up with the DJ!

Mauro Picotto, Jon Carter, Gianluca Fucile, & Matt Hardwick... You guys are wicked!

Matt Hardwick played a remix of Radiohead's House of Cards.
I always wanted to hear any Radiohead remix at a party.

Oh well, can't wait for tiesto in Malaysia! Who knows? Maybe he'll be playing his own remix of Street Spirit. Or maybe Mat Zo's remix of Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Back to the story,
I would say Jon Carter's set was the bomb among all!
He was crazy!
Mauro Picotto started off slow but the beat builds up throughout his mix.
Matt Hardwick's mix... I would say it's predictable.

Here are some photos that you would envy me! hahahah!

(nahhh... maybe not. Only me, myself who is a groupie in the EDM scene among my friends)

Gianluca Fucile & Me!

Matt Hardwick & Me

Jon Carter signing on my speedzone t-shirt!

Whoah! Mauro Picotto is losing his hair!

And of course, the blogstar; Thaiboxingirl.

Oh ya, last week was my Pre-Graduation Dinner. It was awesome! I'll upload pics n stories soon about it.

Now, I'm busy preparing for my final presentation!

Till then, bye bye!
