Recharge Revelation5 presents Global Gathering

The Story Begins...

Hello everyone.
Let's talk about the recent Recharge Revelation5: Global Gathering.

Alrite.
Global Gathering UK. The biggest Dance festival in Europe.
Hundreds of DJs... I think la.. hehehe
Armin van Buuren, Armand van Helden, Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Pete Tong, Paul van Dyk, Sander Kleinenberg, Basement Jaxx and etc has played for UK's Global Gathering.

As for Malaysia's Global Gathering. One whole day and night event. More than 40 acts from Rock, hip-hop to house and trance. Half a million square field.
Can you spot the mistake?

The event was held on a very big grassy field.
I heard that the night before was heavily rain and guess what?
the place has turned into a big puddle of mudd!

Last year's was at the tarred road on the other side of A'Famosa Resort but it can't fit more than 2 arenas (this year's has 6 arenas not including cafe and the gravity zone).

Music?

Great. Awesome. Fabulous. Superb. Wonderful. Suits this world-class event.

1. Pop-Shuvit - thank god, not the same old shit that they play. More of their new album. They played Freak Show, Marabahaya, Jump and etc.

2. Black Strobe - i missed half of their show. i was hoping to hear them playing Me & Madonna and their latest song I'm a Man but I was there during the Italian Fireflies. They were great! Arnaud Rebotini rules!

3. DJ Joey G - Great tunes. We were partying like animals at the Foambar. I love the foambar. :D

4. Simian Mobile Disco - I stayed for SMD for only a bit because we were hungry but I did party alone because I heard the Hustler song from them.

5. Sander Van Doorn - This guy is brilliant! Great set! I love those loud-pumping techno and trance tunes! Sander, I was right exactly in front of you! hahaha!

6. Johan Gielen - Recharge Revelation... He's already a god!

7. Astro & Glide - I would say their set is just ok.

8. Stylustiks & Latin Prince - Their Hip-Hop and R&B tunes were out-of-this-world! they did great.

9. Marcel Woods - YEAHHH!!! Everybody went crazy when ADVANCED were played. And Aizat bumped into a sex action! hahah

10. Bass Agents - OH MY GOD! You guys did great! Seriously, the set was even better compared to UV Nation. The hard beats & remixes were simply amazing. It's like a brand new experience. They re-made the Krowd Killaz remix of the Killer's Mr Brightside to a hard-dance tune and mix it with Marco V's Red Blue Purple. I love it a lot. I would give you a datuk-ship for delivering great hard-trance, hardstyle, and hard-house!

I went there with Khaleeq (Shahzada), Amal, Aizat, Fido, Pooya & Awan.
Hangout with Zack, Wan Hop, Amad, Khaleeq (Sarfaraz), Izati, Intan (Elin), Najibah, Chip, Nafisz and etc.

I saw Epoi.
I met Faridah, Azreena, Iman and etc.

The funny thing was, Iman, we met for the first time. And he asked "Mana Party Society ko?"
Aku rasa nak gelak! hahahaha....
Ada jugak orang kenal kitorg :)

We got out of the place by 3am. The road was jam inside A'Famosa but it was clear after we got out of the place.

Let's checkout some of my photos.

It's true.
The music is totally great!
It was so energetic.

Hopefully, next year's Recharge theme is Sensation pulak!
2 nights in a row! Black & White... The megamixes! The stage show! hahaha

P. Ramlee The Musical ...The Life, The Loves & The Inspiration

The Story Begins...

Last night,
me and my mum went to the Istana Budaya.
Kitorg tengok Muzikal P Ramlee.
Sean Ghazi played as P Ramlee, Dato' Siti Nurhaliza as Azizah (his first love), Atilia as Junaidah (his 1st wife), Melissa Saila as Norizan (his 2nd wife) and Liza Hanim as Saloma (his 3rd wife).

The Autograph session. :P

THE PLAY IS TOTALLY FABULOUS!

Can you imagine?
I lined up for the ticket also sampai dah nak mengamok-ngamok because the line was too long...
I wanted to buy the RM80 seat but it was already sold out earlier. So I got the RM50 with a student discount. :P

Let me talk about the play...
1. Chedd Yussof plays Sukardi dengan baik :)

2. This time, the production is even bigger compared to PGL. It's a different formula. Set kali ni memang lagi banyak.

3. Owh ya, 20 900 seats has already sold out. That means, semua show dah habis tiket! Maaf. hehehe

4. Siti Nurhaliza as Azizah... Memang her role macam pendek but DIA BERLAKON! YAY! I thought she's there only to sing. One thing yg aku perasan, dalam muzikal ni dia tak sentuh P Ramlee langsung. Datuk K marah ke? Bila "curtain close" session tuh pegang pulak si Douglas Lim tapi berlapik ngan selendang dia la.. hehehe.

5. Atilia as Junaidah... WOW! Are u the next big star? You can sing and act! Your live singing also is very good. Even my mum said that u can sing like your mother (Salamiah Hassan).

6. Melissa Saila as Norizan... Her acting is very good! Dia bukan penyanyi. So, paham jugak la why dia dapat lagu yg agak dramatic beat pasal time tu kan dia bergaduh ngan P Ramlee.

7. Liza Hanim as Saloma... Sweet, cute, and elegant. :) Nyanyian yg bagus.

8. Sean Ghazi... Man, you're awesome! Daripada P Ramlee kurus sampai buncit ko buat ek? hehehe... I don't like the way you sing AZIZAH during the 1st part of the show :( tapi yg lain... MEMANG GEMPAQ LA LU BUAT!

Scene-scene yg memang best, cantik:
1. Scene keretapi. Waktu P Ramlee dengan Sukardi nak pergi Singapore dari Penang. Cantik sangat. Daripada dia baru nak naik train, dalam perjalanan yg ada background padi, nyanyi dekat train, masuk terowong tuh lawa, sampai la kat stesen Tanjong Pagar.

2. Scene panggung wayang (or wayang gambar? hehehe). Smart giler! It's like we are behind the screen watching them looking at us.

3. Scene dalam recording studio. The Studio 5. I love it! Especially waktu Saloma duet dengan P Ramlee kat dalam tu with the whole team playing the music. The music is very relaxing.

4. Waktu P Ramlee nak kawin ngan Junaidah tuh best. Suasan kampung, kelakar giler. Kawin kat situ jugak (which means family dia tak nak berlengah kawin la...)

5. The Epilogue is very meaningful. Yg waktu dia cakap "Adakah I ini akan dikenang?" lepas tuh Saloma cakap, "You akan sentiasa jadi Remy I..." OH MY GOD, I love the ending a lot...

6. I also love the Paparazzi punya scene by Infinatez.... Tak sesia korang tak menang Gangstarz! hehehe :P

7. My favorite songs... Siti Nurhaliza nyanyi waktu nak berpisah ngan P Ramlee because he wants to go to Singapore. Atilia nyanyi because the husband has changed. The train scene and Saloma at the Studio 5.

Kesimpulannya, P Ramlee Muzikal memang tak boleh dilepaskan. Even mak aku sendiri kata, "Lepas ni kalau ada lagi, kita beli tiket awal... Cari yg bawah sekali." hahaha! :P

An interview with Armin Van Buuren (by KLUBBERS.NET)

The Story Begins...

Klubbers.net (a Malaysian dance Internet community) made an interview with the #2 DJ in the world, Armin Van Buuren. Armin Van Buuren is famous with his weekly radio mix show in DI.FM (Digital Imported FM) called "A State Of Trance". His famous hits such as Burned With Desire, Shivers, Zocalo, Control Freak, Who is Watching, The World is Watching Me and 24 series theme, Yet Another Day.

This is Encik Armin.

Badle yg sangat celaka kerana dapat bergambar dengan Armin Van Buuren (i envy u, man!)

Klubbers.net did ask their members to contribute questions for AvB and my questions were selected. (Thank you, Lee Tanker!)
heheheh

This interview is taken from Klubbers.net's website.

"We are able to obtain the interview reply from Mr. Armin himself, thanks to Zouk KL for the online interview arrangement and all members that contributed the questions. Please refer to below interview details:

1] How was the year 2007 been for AVB?

Really nice! It’s been a great year in the studio and on the road. Our 4th consecutive year in Amnesia went really well & my radio show A State of Trance celebrated its 6 year anniversary. We started a new concept called “Armin Live” in downtown LA and New York with live acts, we did a solo tour in Australia in June and I worked a lot on new tracks for my next album.

2] Tell us about your inspiration in music making; have you ever felt tired making the same music genre?

I try to be inspired by all kinds of music and moods. Never be a prisoner of your own style. If it doesn’t move you, you shouldn’t release it, is my motto.

3] Of all the sub artist name such as Rising Star, Perpetuous Dreamer, which is the most meaningful to you and why? Any other sub artist name in the making?

Sub artist names are usually for legal reasons as I would sign a track to a different label and they didn’t want a release under the same name. Rising Star was actually “Dark Star” but we had to change it as that name was already in use in the UK. Perpetuous Dreamer is very close to me. The original first ever release “Future Funland” was meant to be the follow up to Blue Fear. I think I will release most of my stuff now as Armin van Buuren.

4] Tell us about the best show experience in your entire career and the biggest records you have played with the best response.

I think there’s simply too much too tell! There have been many amazing experiences and great records! If I would have to mention one show, it would have to be my last Armin Only which was on November 11th 2006 in Ahoy Rotterdam (12 thousand people capacity!). It was so special to me because I played a very long set (9 1/2 hours….). The show included almost all the people I have ever worked with on my latest album. It was a very memorable night. The crowd was amazing! Some of the biggest records of that night were the tracks I played live with vocalists and guitar players etc. (Zocalo with my brother Eller, Burned With Desire with Justine, Shivers with Susana, Great Escape with Ilse and many more!)

5] What’s new on Armada Music? Or have you discovered any new talent / artist lately?

Lots to tell! We’ve just signed Jennifer Rene and Blake Jarrell who I think will be the new superstars. Blake has just done an amazing EP and Jennifer is not only a great singer but also an amazing DJ. All labels are doing really well. The new M.I.K.E. Album has just been released and the last Markus Schulz album is definitely one of my favourites this year. We’ve also released a very special summer album by Sunlounger (a double disk even!). I’ve just recorded my last compilation “Universal Religion part 3” live from Amnesia in Ibiza which is also out on Armada.

6] In random order, do share with us 5 upcoming rising trance producers / Djs that will make an impact in the EDM/Trance scene next year (besides SVD, Blake Jarrell & Richard Durand which is already surfacing)

Jennifer Rene Matthew Dekay Dj Shah John O Callaghan Deadmau5

7] Last but not least, you have been travelled to Malaysia annually, what do you feel about the country and have you heard or tried our famous king of all fruits - The Durian?

No I’m afraid I haven’t heard about the Durian. I love coming to Malaysia. It’s one of my favourite countries in Asia. The people are very friendly and they go crazy on a dance floor which is nice! Thank you for your precious time on the interview and we are definitely looking forward to see you live on 14th Oct 2007 @ Zouk KL, Malaysia."

Armin Van Buuren will be making a gig this month on the second day of Raya. Sunday, October 14th in Zouk KL. I'm not 21 yet! arghhhh...
Like 2 years back, Paul van Dyk's gig on the Raya eve. Funny wasn't it? hehehe.

P/s: I asked about his inspirations and the durian question (since he comes here every year)

Welcome to the family, malls!

The Story Begins...

Hello everyone!
Class has already ended and now it's time to SHOP, SHOP, SHOP!
Next week is Hari Raya. I mean this coming Saturday.
Guess what?
Klang Valley has open 3 new shopping malls!

1. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. (a new shopping experience - in line with New York's 5th Avenue, Tokyo's Ginza, and Milan)

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is located in Bukit Bintang (Opposite Starhill Gallery). I went there last Wednesday with Ilya & Aizat. Great architecture and interior, i would say. :)

What is there inside the Pavilion?
1. Esprit (3 levels)
2. Topman + Topshop (2 levels)
3. Burberry (2 levels)
4. Coach (2 levels)
5. Hermes
6. Ted baker
7. Marc Jacobs
8. Juicy Couture
9. Paul Frank
10. Banana Republic
11. Club Monaco
12. Guess Footwear (the 1st Guess Footwear in Southeast Asia)
13. Bebe
14. Versace
15. Salvatore Ferragamo
16. Parkson Pavilion (Zang Toi ada)

lots moreee.....

I love Pavilion a lot. It's like a mix of high street and high end brands. Go and check out the place. It's awesome!

2. The Gardens at Mid Valley

Nice interior also... :)
Robinsons, Singapore's department store has open here in Malaysia in Mid Valley Gardens.
Isetan (Japan's department store) has also open their 3rd store in Malaysia.
The Gardens, Mid Valley's stores are mostly high end brand. If you are looking for something "street", don't bother to go to The Gardens. Head straight to Megamall.

The Gardens is not fully complete yet. Even the linking tunnel from Megamall to The Gardens is not yet available.

3. Pyramid 2

Hmm, haven't step a foot in the new Pyramid 2. From what I have searched on the Internet, there's Jusco, Old Town White Coffee (yum!), Subway, TGI Friday's, Everlast, Forever 21, etc...
Soon la aku pergi.. :P
Owh ya, you can get Zen (a fine dining restaurant by Secret Recipe) in Pyramid 2 also.

Do check out these places since Hari Raya is just around the corner. SHOP! SHOP!

One Utama New Wing, Bangsar Village 2, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, The Gardens Mid Valley, Pyramid 2 has made it to the public!

Let's wait for Tropicana City in SS2 PJ (Carrefour will be open early next year!), Nineteen in USJ 19, Setia Walk in Puchong, and CapSquare in KL(opening in November this year)

Tropicana City building model.

CapSquare in KL

I can't find any photos of Nineteen

My raya checklist is done!
1. 2 Men's cardigans (Zara and Sungei Wang)
2. 2 long sleeve shirts (Zara and Topman)
3. 2 t-shirts (Peter Werth and Zara)
4. 1 corduroy (Dockers)
5. 1 baju melayu (John Master)

Does that makes me a brand conscious person?
Hey, some of them are from Reject Shop... hahaha!
Who can't resist the cheap price for a brand?
