Hear Me: Autoerotique 'Roll The Drums' (JFK Edit)

I'm having a Steve Aoki party withdrawal syndrome. So I'm gonna share this video that I just got in my inbox. Thanks to the guys at Dim Mak. AutoErotique just drop their latest EP entitled EKG recently. I haven't got the chance to hear it. But this one right here caught my attention; JFK's edit version of 'Roll The Drums'. In case you didn't know, JFK is one-half of MSTRKRFT and I've been following them since the electroclash era (aka when hipsters were still underground). Dim Mak peeps are kind enough to provide you with a free download of AutoErotique 'Roll the Drums' (JFK Edit) in celebrating the EP release. Download the track here.

HEAR ME: Zedd 'Slam The Door'

Zedd is not a familiar name in Malaysia. Germany has been paying some props to Zedd over the years for his amazing remixes for Armand van Helden, Wolfgang Gartner and Fatboy Slim, and he was also appeared in Skrillex EP, which was almost a full album, for his remix of Skrillex's 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'. Early this month, Zedd has just came up with a new track entitled 'Slam the Door'. The track reached the #1 spot this week. If you enjoy big room electro sound, you have to check this tune.

HEAR ME: Angels & Airwaves - Love

The Story Begins...

One of my idols in the music scene, Tom DeLonge and his band Angels & Airwaves has just released a new album entitled "LOVE". The album can be downloaded for free through Modlife. You heard me right, FREE! The "special edition" version of the album will be available soon in stores. I will find it no matter what! Yee-haw!

The album release was delay due to the Blink 182 reunion tour... but is all good! I like the album very much. Not because of I'm a Tom DeLonge fan, that's for sure. Take a listen and you know what I mean. The band has injected the "space rock" element and it sounded like a fusion of U2 and Pink Floyd. So it's pretty much of a sound experiment which I find it a bit different than the first two albums.

In short, 11 tracks in LOVE are amazing. Download it here.

HEAR ME: Hujan - Mencari Konklusi

The Story Begins...

Most of you are excited over Beyonce concert. Yeah, me too. Sorry, I digress. The feeling is the same when I first heard the latest EP from Hujan. I mean, who doesn't love Hujan? If you flaunt Beyonce tickets to the whole wide world, I'd rather flaunt my Hujan CD! haha!

"Mencari Konklusi" has been heard in every radio stations for the past few months and Hujan came out with an EP recently with 7 tracks. This is the kind of vibe that I like. More rock & roll stuff with a little of effect samples here and there. "Kau Harus Ada" and "Benci" are my favorites.

What more?
Grab the EP and enjoy it.
Seriously. Recommended.

HEAR ME: Where the Wild Things Are (Soundtrack)

The Story Begins...

When I first saw the trailer for "Where the Wild Things Are", I was stunned and really, really fell in love with it. The movie is based from a 48-pages children storybook with around 10 sentences in it.

The movie is produced by Spike Jones and the soundtrack is going to be awesome. Spike Jones former girlfriend, Karen O (who is also the vocal for Yeah Yeah Yeahs), wrote for the movie soundtrack. The trailer itself uses the song from Arcade Fire titled "Wake Up" which did portrays the mood to it.

"All is Love" single cover

Karen O and the Kids teamed up for a song in the soundtrack which has already been released and title is "All is Love". A beautiful song, it is. Check it out below!

"All is Love" is also being featured in an anti-fat advertisement called "Did You Play Today?" by the US Department of Health and Human Service.

The album soundtrack will be released on the September 29 in the US. Queens of the Stone Age, The Raconteurs and Deerhunter will contribute their song for the movie soundtrack also. Make sure you guys will look out for it.

The most anticipated movie, "Where the Wild Things Are", is scheduled to release on the October 16, 2009. Check out the trailer.

HEAR ME: My July 09 Mix

The Story Begins...

Adli is a DJ wannabe. So what? *giggles*

Damn, my external hard disk is not functioning and most of my collections are stuck in there. That shouldn't be a reason for me to stop making new mixes, right?

I found some good Electro/Fidget House tracks. The last track of this mix is the Shinichi Osawa's remix of Never Can Say Goodbye by The Jackson 5 as a tribute to Michael Jackson. My idol, your idol, our idol.

Hope you enjoy this mix.

HEAR ME: Doves - Kingdom of Rust

The Story Begins...

I think everyone should listen to this album. I've been playing this album for more than 3 times now. I don't know why. It's amazing. Try listen to the first track, Jetstream. It's nice. Another recommended track would be Birds Flew Backwards, Spellbound and Lifeliness. Previously, I heard their track titled Caught By the River in the O.C. soundtrack and there is no reason why I should not listen to this one. If you're into progressive rock, you have to check this one! FYI, Tom Rowlands from Chemical Brothers helped out for the "10:03" song arrangement.

HEAR ME: Gomez - A New Tide

The Story Begins...

Gomez has proven the world that they are standing strong for more than a decade in the music industry. This English indie rock band had recently came out with a new album entitled "A New Tide" comprising 11 tracks with a bonus track, Engine (which only available on iTunes). My track of choice would be Mix, Natural Selection, and Very Strange. I kinda like the album because it is very relaxing and suits my chill moments. The upbeat tracks such as Airstream Driver is good too with a bit of electronic element.

P/S: A review mentioned that this album will disappoint Gomez fans BUT newbies (like me) will surely have to check out this album.

HEAR ME: Metric - Fantasies

The Story Begins...

Fantasies is the fourth studio album by Metric (a Canadian New Wave/Indie Rock band). The album was released last month (March). However, four tracks have already became the hit single since the end of last year. Their first single kicked off from the album, "Help, I'm Alive" was the real deal for my listening pleasure. The track is already on its 11th week in the Canadian Hot 100 and became the third TOP 20 songs after "Monster Hospital" (from Live it Out) and "Poster of a Girl" (from Live it Out). Four years is not a short period of time for this band to come out with new materials but hey, it's worth the wait.

You'll love them if you like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Ladytron.

4 Stars
